The LED Lighting Revolution

Q: I have heard that there are huge savings in operating costs by switching to LED lighting and that the repayment period is short. What are your recommendations for commercial LED lighting?

A: While LED lighting has been with us for a decade, the widespread use in commercial applications is a relatively new development. But there have been major improvements in LED luminaires and retrofit applications. Today's LED fixtures have high light power (lumens), use less power (watts), have higher efficiency (lumen/watt) as well as a highly expanded range of paint (Kelvin temperature) than yesterday's fixtures. Many are also dimmable. Because of this, LED lights bulb is now one of the most cost-effective ways to save energy and money because they use as much as 80% less power. And depending on the application, the refund period may be incredibly short.

Since your shop immediately lowered the operating costs of the retrofit cost, the more often you use your lighting, the faster the refund. The "low hanging fruit" for a retrofit is all lighting used continuously, such as the lighting in a hospital, or for a long time, for example in a lobby or airport parking lot. I've seen energy analysis that shows refunds in less than two years for applications with this type of use.

Another advantage of LED lighting Pakistan is maintenance. Since an LED light source is not as close as light as a glowing source, LED lights must be grouped to increase lumens. At a practical level, this means that although several of the LED elements fail, it will hardly reduce the exit from the individual fixture.

If you are considering an LED Spotlight retrofit, I recommend you start with an energy analysis that shows what you spend and what you save. Secondly, I strongly recommend a spot test of the fixtures you are considering. And finally, investigate and compare installation costs. There are third-party rental and financing arrangements that allow you to adapt back at a cost of no zero, which is paid monthly through your energy savings.

Lighting is a very large percentage of commercial energy consumption, usually 25% for many companies, and this can be significantly higher for offices or hospital use. So energy savings are significant. In addition, there are the added benefits of light control and color, reduction of maintenance, reduction of air conditioning costs (lower heat load), possible tax advantages and of course our part contributes to saving the environment. I believe that LED lighting will increasingly be specified for new construction and that bulb and fluorescent lamps will eventually become outdated technology from the past. With proper auditing, recommendations, and testing, the well-demonstrated savings are available to your business today.
